| There are approximately
1.2 million Rotarians in 166 countries, and more than 31,000
Rotary Clubs worldwide. The Rotary Club of Batavia, New York
is located midway between Buffalo and Rochester. It was chartered
in 1919, (Rotary International Club #491) and thrives as an
organization of business and professional leaders that work
to improve the community – forging friendships, encouraging
business, and providing humanitarian efforts.
When challenged, Rotarians are known for there ability
to do what it takes to get the job done. The 110 members of
the Batavia Rotary Club are no exception. In fact, given the
wide and ambitious nature of our many charitable pledges, it
became clear that we had to make some bold moves to raise some
big money.
We are in the process of raising the money for a $250,000
pledge to our local hospital. We have adopted and support members
of the troops in Iraq as well as children in Belarus. We fund
local athletic teams, youth organizations, and cultural events,
all the while supporting Rotary International in its quest to
eradicate polio and promote ethical standards and goodwill in
the world.
So here we are… in our entire professional splendor….
11 very brave and honorable men, and 3 very visionary women.
We all saw an opportunity to make some money, and put a smile
on a few faces. The Rotary Club of Batavia, NY |
